Prutex Nylon presented its PRUECO OCEAN chemically recycled nylon during a circular-design exchange and factory tour in Huai’an, Jiangsu, on 23–24 September. The event brought material suppliers, designers and industry partners into discussions about how recovered feedstocks enter new products.
From recovered nylon to yarn
The company’s product materials identify PRUECO OCEAN as a chemically recycled nylon range. A report on the visit describes sorting and preparing nylon waste, followed by depolymerisation, purification, repolymerisation and spinning. Fishing nets and textile waste are among the feedstocks described.
The report also says Prutex is working with a brand partner on a product combining recovered clothing offcuts with fishing-net waste. This is a company-reported development, rather than evidence that all mixed clothing can follow the same route.
Matching materials with product requirements
For buyers, the practical questions concern feedstock composition, yarn specifications and evidence supporting recycled content. The visit illustrates how recycling and garment development can be connected; the reviewed sources do not establish current recycled-yarn output or a complete independent environmental comparison.
